"No... all have long since been gone with the wind so to speak... except of course her heart and spirit and my love for her still lives on in my heart...", he said sorrowfully.

The young girl looked inquisitively at him for his choice of words and he smiled at her reminiscing of his past and of his Love.

"She was a fine woman and a princess you know..." his voice trailed trying to remember every detail.

"A REAL Princess!?!", she said loudly and others began to listen more intently even pulling up a chair as the old man began to weave his tale of old times and past glories, of life and death and a kind of spiritual love that can never die. Even the friends of the punk became intrigued and left their comrade to wallow in his drink at the bar by himself until finally even he came over.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The old man sat there and began from the beginning, the very beginning of his first journey.  He described what he could remember of his childhood and told them about Ilia and Rusl, of Colin and of course the short and mischievous imp Midna, describing in great detail of their travels together as he was cursed in wolf form for presumably forever.  He told how with Midna's help, both he and Princess Zelda had saved all of Hyrule and had finally for once and for all put an end to Ganondorf's evil reign of terror.  His companion Midna, after she had sacrificed herself for him for the second time and who was now transformed back into her naturally beautiful self, was also a princess and had decided to go back to the Twilight Realm to over see her people and the kingdom's rebuilding and in the process had destroyed the Twilight Mirror forever never being able to bridge the gap between the Light and the Twilight Realms again...

After that, Link had put the Master Sword back into it's pedestal in the sacred grove and had visited his old town of Ordon Village before he was invited to the castle again to stay... for good.  Even though Link was from the backwaters of Hyrule in a sleepy little goat herders village, he had shown great Courage and Amazing skills and Zelda had instantly taken a liking to him.

Link and Zelda had fallen in love and were to be wedded and about six months later, after all the preparations had been made, the invitations sent, the food  planed out and the seating arrangements organized and especially once the dress; which was created by 10 seamstresses and nearly took the full six months to complete, was made they finally had their wedding and it was a marvelous wedding at that, none like it in all the kingdom had been seen before and would not be seen again for quite some time after that they had assumed.  Link had gotten all dressed up himself in a light blueish white tux.  All the towns people had showed up, even the Zora's and the Gorons had traveled from their homelands to witness it.  And of course all Ordon Village had shown up as well.  And the wedding night... well... that definitely was a night to remember...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The guys around the table chuckled.  Some were single, but definitely knew what it meant, while the other men had been married or still were.  They nodded to one another and thought back to their past.  Steph's father was even reminiscing of her mother... Steph wondered why her father was so deep in thought, but his thoughts were more on love and his and his late wife's entire life together, not just this one special night like the majority of the men were thinking about.  Although obviously she was too young to understand what happened on a wedding night... to her it was all just suppose to be romantic; maybe a few soft loving kisses and flowers and candy... and then the two were to go to sleep in each others arms... and although that was part of it... it certainly was not what the other guys were thinking right now..., but the father was going to keep her mind innocent for now, he did not want her to grow up too fast... there would be plenty of boys later seeking her affection...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, they had stayed at the castle for most of their honeymoon and they were not to be disturbed, (And as the old man was saying all this, at the time of the events he was not knowingest of it and he would explain why and how he became aware of them later...)  but one of her Royal Advisers had informed her, most regretfully, knowing she was going to be upset being told, that her Seer wanted to talk to her and that it was of grave importance.  He had warned her it was for her eyes and ears only though, Link was specifically told not to come.  She had argued and had told him that Link was her husband now and thus the Prince of all of Hyrule, but the adviser informed her that the witch had made the utmost explicit instructions not to let Link know.  She had sighed and wondered what it could all be and in the early morning of the next day Zelda had left as Link was still fast a sleep on their king sized plush bed, the covers strewn about in any kind of old fashion with him just barely being covered no doubt after she had just "tuckered" him out the night previously and or earlier this morning it self...  The princess smiled to herself, he was sleeping like a little baby.  She looked down at her stomach and wondered if any time soon they would be graced with a child of their own by the Gods and they would have an actual heir...

However, that smile and happiness would soon turn to tears and sadness.    She was only wearing her pink nightie with a thin robe and pink matching slippers, not wanting to make a lot of noise and fuss and wake her sleeping prince and left practically how she was.  As Zelda traversed to the lowest parts of the castle, with what use to be the main dungeon, past the sections of even the most current dungeons that were not holding any one at the present moment, she had wished she had wore something more suited to spelunking and tried to cover herself more from the feeling of the dampness and the cold drafts...  She took a secret passage way only she and a couple of her Royal Advisers knew about and traveled even further down a hidden winding stone staircase, having to light a torch to see through the perpetual blackness of the concealed underground stairway and used her left hand for guidance running it along the cool rough stone walls, feeling it's dampness and grit.  She could smell the mildew and there were cobwebs and spiders on the walls and on the  corners high up which she cringed at along with unseen noises like chattering and high pitched chirps... and the occasional rat that would scurry across the stair case or her foot...

This huge area was no longer used any more for prisoners and she had heard stories of way back when, when the castle was first built, that... well... it just was not a very nice place.  However, her Perceiver, Impa, now resided here and she was a witch of sorts.  She was a nice woman, although a bit misunderstood and rude at times for people who did not know her, but the princess had known her since she was a little girl.  She had been the Visionary to the King and she was quite helpful... but only if you listened to her.  She had even told of the up coming darkness and gloom, the perpetual Twilight and the invasion that was to come, but her father had not harkened and devastation was wrought across the land.  Never again she thought would she allow the witch to be taken so lightly, not on matters of any real importance anyway...  The old lady could certainly weave a tale and most were on matters that mattered not or could not even be understood, but some where in all that nonsense there was a very real message usually.

Zelda could see light at the bottom of the stairs and as she reached the bottom floor and stepped through the door way a raspy creaking voice could be heard from further inside, "Ahh, my child.  Have a seat Dear, I have much to tell you.  And prepare yourself, what I have to say is not going to be to your liking or what you even want to hear..."

Zelda took a seat on the plain wooden stool, the only stool in the entire room.  And minus the bed that looked more like it had rags than actual blankets, the room was devoid of any furniture minus the tables and cauldrons and wooden shelves lined with old looking things and jars with  different ingredients.  Also old texts,... some of which were not even in the official library... and for good reason... not all of these books were safe to own or even legal to be in possession of, were stacked brimming from the shelves... with such lack of furniture she guessed that the witch did not need any more since hardly anyone ever visited her.

"You wanted to see me?", Zelda inquired, not sure how to take what the witch had just told her.

"Unfortunately... yes...", the old lady began.  "How happy are you right now my princess?", she asked.

Zelda thought that was a weird question.  After all, the threat of both Zant and Ganondorf had been extinguished, both her castle and her kingdom rebuilt.  And most of all she just married the MOST Handsome and the MOST Courageous young man ever, who also happened to be the "Savior of Hyrule" no less!  Obviously she was over whelmed with joy!  "I am VERY Happy!  Although I do not enjoy being called from my... wifely duties on my honeymoon of all times..." she had stated a little matter of factly, but then began to blush when she saw the old woman had a wirely smile on her face.

The old woman nodded at first and then shook her head.  She too had once been young... once been in love... but she had never had the pleasure of calling a man her own.  Not that she was always this old or unpleasant to the eyes with this gray hair and deep wrinkles and hunched over as she was now... in fact she used to be quite the looker, some would even call her exotic, sexy even,  a beautiful traveling gypsy...  But she never married because the man she had chosen to be hers had died... that thought brought her back to reality.  "Zelda... how much do you love Link?  I mean actually "LOVE" him?" She inquired, although she was sure she already knew the answer.

"That is a strange question to ask Impa.  I love him obviously, totally even.  After all I married him!", she said not sure where this was all going.  "Why?", she asked, her curiosity finally getting the better of her.  Why would she ask such an obvious question she already had the answer to?

"Yes, yes, of course you love him my Dear...", the witch began again waving her hands in the air above her head as if waving Zelda's question away like the dust, "but how much do you "REALLY Love" him?  Would you sacrifice yourself and or your whole kingdom just to keep him safe?", she prodded.

Zelda was taken a back.  With out question she would certainly risk and or give her own life for him.  But her kingdoms life... that was a lot to ask for..., a lot of soldiers and a lot of innocent people, especially children lived here.  She paused before she answered, a part of her would sacrifice, but obviously her caring and loving for all her people and her WISDOM prevailed.  No matter HOW MUCH she loved Him, she could not sacrifice her entire kingdom just for him nor would she sacrifice it for herself.  But with out question she would give up her own life just for Link, with out even second guessing.

The princess had explained all this to the Beholder and the older woman seemed to stand there and nod her head in agreement and approval.  To save one man's life for an entire kingdoms worth..., "the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few or the ONE...", Impa said out loud.

She motioned the young woman to come around to her cauldron that was cooking on the fire and when they got there the woman threw a few unidentifiable things into the liquid and finally took a rather long and clean looking, but crude pin and grabbed a hold of Zelda's right hand with out even asking pricked her index finger and a rather loud "OUCH!!!" escaped the Princess's mouth in both surprise and pain.  "Sorry my Dear, but I have already done this many times my self and I am getting too old for this... your young, it'll heal.", she said with a wink and a smile, but then her face went back to one of seriousness and concentration.  After making a few drops of the red life giving liquid fall into the boiling and bubbling smoking cauldron, by way of squeezing and coaxing the blood out making it hurt even more, she released the young woman's hand as Zelda stuck her hurt bleeding finger into her own mouth.  She had an eye brow raised at what she thought the Seer was actually doing as she watched the old woman brush the over flowing smoke and fog with her hands from a top the cauldron as it drifted silently and slowly to the floor.  She saw the older woman peer into the cauldron and cock her head to the side and seemed to be studying the vast liquid and then nodded in approval and then saw her motion for her to do the same and she herself looked into the liquid and saw... nothing.

Then the old woman told her to stick her right hand, the one that had been pricked, into the boiling vat of dark liquid.  Zelda backed away, confused.  Did she just hear her right!?!  "In THAT!?!" she gasped.

"Yes. In "THAT"!", the old woman said with out stuttering as if it was perfectly natural and a sober suggestion of an every day request.

"Are you insane!?!  I am not going to stick my hand in that, it will burn and scar me for life!", Zelda said shocked at what the witch proposed.

"I thought you said you would DO ANYTHING for you new Love."  I am not asking you to sacrifice your life, only receive a little discomfort and mangle only one of you limbs in the process to see into the future of what is to come.  Surely Link is worth a little pain and one useless arm isn't he?", the old woman crowed slyly.

Zelda was silent.  She had never questioned in a real life situation that she would sacrifice her life for him, but she generally thought it would be an instant thing, like it was do or die and she would throw herself in front of an incoming arrow or a thrusting sword or an attacking magic spell for him... but this was just asking her to punish herself to see in the future and he was not in any real danger right now that she knew of...

She swallowed hard and looked at the old woman.  The woman had a face of stone, there was no sign that she was joking.  Zelda stepped back up to the cauldron slowly... unsure of both herself and of what this woman was asking of her.  This was crazy she thought..., but... she did love Link and if he was in trouble she had to trust the Seer... she could not allow what her late father had allowed...  She swallowed hard and looked down into the liquid, it was at a roaring boil, bubbles were coming up from the surface of the water in tiny, medium and large proportions with smoke which was frothing up to the top.  It was boiling so hard it was actually partially over flowing the top of the cauldron and the water would hiss when it would hit the fire underneath it.

"I can not baby you, you will have to do this on your own free will.  This WILL hurt and you WILL be burned, but it is the only way for you to See.", the  Prophet said.

Zelda took a deep breath and bit her lower lip.  She loved Link so much, she knew in order to save him and most likely her entire kingdom again, since with out him no one could so effectively protect it, she would have to do it.  Besides... Link always said she would still be the MOST Beautiful young woman to him no matter what... she guessed she would try him at his word...

Zelda closed the gap to the cauldron just staying far enough back so the water that was splashing out did not get on her nor the flicking of the flames beneath it would catch her robe.  She pulled her right sleeve up and held onto it with her other hand and leaned over and reached out with her right hand towards the roaring water.  She brought it close to the bubbling waters edge and could feel the unfavorable steam that was insufferable and then felt just one small droplet of hot water splash up and it instantly scolded her hand.  She flinched and began to bring it back, the pain from just that one tiny little drop had burned her badly, but she held fast.  She gave one last look to the old woman who was not making any movements to make her do it, but she saw in the woman's gaze both an understanding of what Zelda herself must be going through to prepare herself for this and also a need for her to See it with her own eyes... this was more for Zelda's and Link's benefit than for the old woman's.

Zelda closed her eyes and with her fingers out stretched thrust her hand into the burning hot liquid up to the wrist.  Immense pain shook and over took her.  She had to fight her body from not only it's natural response of wanting to pull away and get to safety, but from the mind's natural desire to shut it self off and have her pass out from the pain.  The old woman grabbed onto the younger woman, not only to support her and to keep her up, but to actually thrust her arm ever deeper into the insanely hot fluid, even up to and past her elbow, while keeping her own old hand and body safely away from the tremendous heat.

Zelda just stood there and took it.  She shook and sputtered and threw her had back and screamed out loud like nothing she had ever done before or heard herself and her eyes rolled back into her head as the burning fiery pain took over not only her arm and mind, but her entire body.  She gritted her teeth and tears poured from her lovely hazel eyes and ran down her cheeks like rain.  Red hot anguish enveloped her mind and her entire being to the core, she thought she was indeed going to pass out and then... it all just flashed and everything went away...

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

It was replaced by a blurry image that was slowly coming into focus although on the sides of her vision it stayed blurry.  But she saw everything around her as if she was in third person and she could magnify the image if she so desired at will and get the perfect viewing angle, seeing her own self at that time and place with Link, but they were oblivious to her standing there wearing only her pink night gown, robe and slippers.  But she could feel the heat from the sun and the cool breeze against her naked skin and it was actually making her nightie flutter slightly upwards and she felt silly since no one could actually see her, but she still tried to hold it down and make herself look decent...

********************************************************

They were laughing and talking and in the Royal Garden.  It was a bright warm sunny day and he was carrying a wicker picnic basket and she a small pink blanket that she would place on the ground to sit on.  He was dressed in his rather nice looking shirt and shorts, actually the same ones that was common place for Ordon Village and she was wearing a rather light and airy blue and white dress that just barely past her knees.  They were both walking in open toed sandals and when they got to a clearing where it was secluded with only a single large tree, which would provide both a decent amount of shade from the hot afternoon sun, but also for concealment even though she had sent the guards away for a little privacy, she flipped open the soft pink blanket letting the breeze unfurl it and placed it down.  Link placed the basket on top of the blanket and Zelda immediately bent over at the waist to peer inside the basket to see what could be taken out now and what could be saved for later.  But Link had other plans.  He wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her close to him... she could feel Him through her soft thin dress fabric and turned her head around in surprise and had to keep her lovely long luxurious brown wavy hair up and out of her eyes so she could see what he was thinking he was doing.  She had a rather surprised expression on her face, her eyes wide and her mouth open, feeling him against her so intimately and out in the some what open as it were.  She turned around and scolded him, but then soon giggled and he held her close and she squirmed out of his grasp and flicked off her sandals and ran out onto the grass.   Link only smiled and followed suit and they both enjoyed the soft cool emerald green grass that was still slightly moist from the early morning dew and that had been shaded from the sun by the tree and it's great big leafy branches, between their toes.  They wiggled their toes in it, so much work they had done since the fall and the rebuilding of her kingdom had taken place.  After their honeymoon they had not had much time for themselves...

Link put his hands up and out from his chest like fake claws and shown his sparkling white teeth in a wolfish grin, snarling playfully as he stepped towards her taking exaggeratedly large and slow steps and told her he was going to catchy his pretty little kitty... Zelda just shook her head and smiled and waddled her finger out in front of her back and forth and said no he would not in a matter of fact voice.  And then the hunt began and Link began chasing the ecstatic princess through the green grass, making playful growling noises.  She was quick, but he was quicker, but he intentionally did not catch her.  There would be no sport or play if he just grabbed her.  He had to pursue her.  He had gotten close a couple of times and had actually meant to catch her at one point, but she had been surprisingly light on her feet and he had been caught flat footed.  She circled around the tree and began making mocking kitty noise.  Little "meows" and "mews" which made the wolf emit more loud manly noises.  Zelda gracefully traced the rough tree bark with her soft pale delicate hands and nimbly kept her body and toes close to it to provide less of a target for her huntsman... it was a wide tree, big enough to hide three of her side by side and they had moved left and right with her trying to just stay one step a head of him.  She was doing a pretty good job and had saw him looking the other way and she was going to perform her patented ninja kitty maneuver where she would be unseen and surprise him with a hug and maybe even topple the wolf playfully to the ground and then "lick" and or "bite" him, but as she was going for it and was creeping around, Link had spotted her right hand holding back and knew from just that hand's posture what she was preparing for.  He lept around the tree and grabbed onto her hand and she squealed in both surprise and disappointment, her secret move now useless.  She became upset, not wanting to of been caught so soon and easily and started to pout... something he loved to see her do when it was for something so small and meaningless as a game.  Actually it was a turn on for him, although he was not quite sure why... maybe because he generally could make her smile and happy again quickly...

He brought her to him and she shook her head and tried to push him away with her hands on his shoulders acting as if she did not want to be consoled, but he would not be denied his prize, after all he had caught his treasure... He pulled her in close, her hair was brushing her face from the gentle breeze, giving her an innocent and mysterious look about her.  Her lips were partially opened and she had stopped struggling, her eyes... such Beautiful Eyes... The MOST Beautiful Hazel Eyes in all the world... he was getting lost in them again... He touched her belly with his left hand and she moaned, although he could not feel anything kicking, he knew a child was waiting to be born in about another six months...  Zelda looked at him with quivering eyes and she had tears forming in them.  They both were scared to death about this new predicament, both were worried they might not be ready and this would be a lot of responsibility, but it was something they both told the other that he or she would be ready and would make a wonderful father or mother.  Time itself seemed to slow and he pressed his lips into hers needfully as she pressed back just as needing, and everything was forgotten including the food, except for her, him and the little one yet to come...

They slunk to the green cool grass and held one another like that for a long while, lost in one another's kiss and from time to time pausing just to look deeply into one another's eyes and getting reaffirmation of each others willingness and love for one another and commitment and then would go back to kissing softly and sometimes more passionately.  Eventually it began to get a little cooler with the clouds covering the sun and the wind blowing a little more and the leaves of the tree swaying a little bit more and she just put her head into his right shoulder and tried to snuggle into his neck as much as possible to get comfortable and warm and he was only so gladly to oblige with an arm around her and the other stroking her delicate features and brushing her hair from her beautiful face and him stealing sniffs from her hair from time to time kissing her forehead gently and lovingly... he loved doing that so much, she was extraordinarily beautiful to gaze upon and she felt really good to hold and smelled really nice as well and tasted even sweeter...

****************************************************************************************

They had been holding one another for so long and Zelda was smiling at the scene from her perspective.  It looked so peaceful and romantic, but then she saw something not quite right... and she began to have a bad feeling...  Something was in the tree it self and it's leaves, although barely noticeable, were moving more than just from the wind it self.  Zelda began to scream, but the two lost in one another could not hear her, she was only an observer to events that were happening... or that were meant to occur...

****************************************************************************************

Link heard slight rustling from above and saw something bright and shiny come from the tree branches and Link had just barely gotten his left arm up in time to cover Zelda's face and her eyes were still shut.  However, she opened them at the piercing sound of something tearing into Links forearm skin near the wrist and of his small grunt that would have been unnoticeable to anyone close, but with her being totally up against him she not only heard it, but felt it even if it was ever so slightly.  She made a frantic sound as he turned his arm over and they saw the little knife dripping with his own blood down onto her dress and pulled it out wincing slightly and it had struck bone.  They were both taken a back and still a little confused and he looked quickly up at the tree branches and saw more rumblings from it and he both shoved Zelda out of the way and rolled away himself as five more knives struck the earth and the tree trunk where they had just been sitting.  He rolled to his feet and ran over to Zelda and helped her up and got her behind him as three dark clad figures hanging upside down seemingly magically appeared from the tree bows and dropped to the ground below astonishingly silent.  Their clothes looked unfamiliar, but their faces seemed to look recognizable... like him almost, but not quite... their ears were different although still pointed and they were not a mirror image of himself, they did not look Hylian, not completely anyway...

Both Link and Zelda were on the picnic blanket by now and Link was guiding her further backwards.  The movements of these Hylian type creatures were erratic and hypnotizing almost.  He decided not to focus so much on the hand and foot movements themselves, but of the dark creatures in general.   He crouched low to the ground as if he was a wolf and about to pounce on them and they all reached to their belts on both sides of them and grabbed a hold of a throwing knife in each hand and with out even properly aiming flung them unnervingly accurate at the couple.  Link however saw it coming and figured they would try again with such an unchivalry act and the low crouch was not meant to attack, but to defend.  He grabbed a hold of the edges of the picnic blanket and flung it into the air, making the picnic basket and all it's contents fly and scatter into the air partially distracting the enemy and began to twirl the blanket.  The motion had it's desired effect.  The blanket was effectively catching the knives only letting them poke through the fabric, but not coming out towards them completely and keeping them from doing any real harm and subsequently and luckily even a few food items and the basket it self had caught a knife or two in mid air and made the enemy pause for a precious second or two.

Link was unprepared for the battle before it even began, he had no real  weapons or even a shield or any armor of any kind and the attack had come so lightning fast and quiet that none of the guards who had been purposely stationed elsewhere for privacy purposes of the couple would have known of the surprise attack and both Link and Zelda silently cursed themselves for their lack of foresight.  But before he had even twirled up all the incoming projectiles, the three dark figures had split up almost seemingly leaving shadows of themselves in their wake and formed a wide triangle around the defenseless couple.

Zelda let out a gasp too late, but Link had saw it coming, although he could do little to avoid it.  They were fast and agile and as he would come to find out, surprisingly strong.  He had just enough time to unravel the blanket and tossed it on top of the first one as it came at him, both obscuring it's vision and also undermining it's efforts to get at them.  He kicked it straight in the nuts and then kneed it right in the face from behind the blanket hearing a satisfying and sickeningly loud crunching sound as it bent forward from the initial kick and then flew backwards from the knee onto the soft ground and tried to roll away and get the blanket from off of him, but it was a slow process because he was so tangled up.  However, the other two came at the right and left of Link with lightning quick daggers and kicks.  Although he was exceptionally mindful of the sharp daggers he was getting pummeled by the powerful and sneaky kicks.  Link did the best he could, if he had had his sword or any sword for that matter or even got a hold of one of the knives he might of had a chance, but alas... he felt his ribs crack and break, he felt his jaw dislocate and his nose broken with blood spurting out and one of his eyes got swollen from a high heal kick.  He even got slashed across his chest, but was able to keep that blade away from him a second time and turn his opponent as the other assassin thrust forward and caught his comrade by mistake.  He shoved the stabbed enemy into his thoughtless friend who tumbled to the ground and went to grab the hand of Zelda only to find a dagger to her throat by the same dark long eared creature he had kicked and kneed earlier.  The figure clad in black seemed to be in pain, his face bleeding profusely, but held onto the defenseless princess quite easily.  He had a handful of wavy brown hair in one hand and the double edged dagger to her long slender unprotected pale throat with the other and was kissing and licking and slurping on the right side of her neck and even bit into her shoulder laughing enjoying her disgusted and painful cries as his blood dripped down the front of her blouse which once was her pretty blue and white dress.  "She gooood reaaal tastes.", he said with excited evil laughter and foreign tongue.  Link went to get her, but he staggered forward and had to catch himself from falling.  He shook his head and put his left hand to his forehead and was still reaching for Zelda with his other as the dark clad figure holding her drug her backwards a few paces.  "What was going on!?!", he thought.  Surely he was hurt bad, but he had had worse and still fought on.

Then something more darker and much more sinister came from behind him like the wind and a sword became protruded up from Link's back through his chest.  Link looked down and saw a familiar dark sword tip covered in his blood.  It was Ganon's Dark Evil Blade!!!  But how!?!  They had just defeated him not too long ago.  Did someone resurrect him!?!  Then a hand grabbed his chin and lifted it up.  Link could see it was the right hand and it had a glyph on it, a triangle at the top glowed with two other triangles staying dimmed at the bottom and he recognized it as the Triforce of Power.  So Ganon WAS still alive or back from the dead!  The hand forced Links face up to meet it's eyes and Link saw something dark and powerful... but it was not Ganondorf... and it was not even the same creatures from the dream or vision he had had from one of the Light Spirits, Lanayru the Water Serpent, when it had tried to show Link the past and of forgotten evil... a people as a darker version of himself... although this new guy did look Hylian in some ways... but also different... his ears were more pointed up then out... and his skin... darker than the Hylian peoples, ashy even... it's hair a startling bright white bringing a stark contrast to his normally dark features and it's eyes were of a purplish nature...

"Why hello boy!", the creature said and then chuckled to himself, shaking his head.  "Sorry.  I meant Link.  That is your name isn't it?", he continued.  "Nice place you've got here... and nice woman too... I see my fellow compadre agrees..." noticing that his agent was now lashing his tongue across the young woman's lips as she was screaming and crying out to her Love that was now on his knees and dieing.  "I think she likes it, don't you boy?", he said as he switched hands on the sword and grabbed Link's hair with his left and pushed Link's head down and forward towards the threesome, the other agent who had mistakenly killed his buddy and was knocked to the ground was also taking pleasure from his wife now, moving his hands up and down her body and evilly caressing her and sticking his tongue forcefully into her mouth and down her throat.  He yanked his head back again.  "My apologies yet again... my memories... they seem to... not be my own at the present moment...", he said with a wicked and some what familiar grin... "You probably are wondering why you were feeling so weak just a few minutes ago.  You should know it was not your fault... you see... the blades we use are poisoned.  Actually you should be commended on a job well done.  I had no idea I would actually need my three associates on this day.  To be honest I did not need them per say, I could have handled it easily enough, even if you had all your weapons and armor.  But my guys here... well, they are not quite as good as me.  But then again that is why I am their leader and quite frankly, as I always use to say before I received the gift... why take chances...", he shoved Links head down again to watch as the other two were having way too much fun with the hapless princess and were now on the ground taking turns holding her down and tearing what now were little more than just rags from off of her unwilling body to not take too much notice of their leader's snide remarks about them.

"You sick Bastards!!!  Let her go, she posses no threat to you!" he started to say defiantly and then changed to a more hospital and diplomatic voice knowing their dire situation and continued, "I will willingly go with you if you let her go free and to safety.", Link finished trying to bargain with them as he was still struggling even though he was fully impaled.  The Dark Figure simply twisted the large sword into Link's back even more so and it severed his spinal cord and he screamed as blood poured out from both his chest, back and mouth as he coughed up thick plumes of blood.

"Is that any way to speak to an old friend!? …" He paused and the figure holding the sword shook his head again and began to loose patience with himself... "I want your power Link.  I want yours and that whore of a wife of yours!"  He yanked the bladed from Link's dieing body, pushing him half way off it with a dark grungy boot, making Link fall face first into the tarnished wet ruddy red grass.  Link mentally tried to crawl towards his Love to get them from off of her screaming struggling body, but he could not move his limbs and he died there...

Zelda was convulsing while standing as Impa held her up.  She had tears streaming down her face from not only the scorching fiery pain, but also from what she was witnessing.  Impa saw that that was enough and pulled the gnarled arm out from the cauldron.  It looked like a twisted and old withered tree branch with knobbly stringy scared skin hanging on and off of it.  She brought the threshing child to the bed and she had white spittle running down her chin and neck from her lips the pain and the vision had been so great.  Impa covered her now grossly disfigured arm and wrapped it in a cool soaked cloth to try and alleviate some of the pain.  Impa took another damp cool cloth and placed it on her forehead while trying to wipe the tears and saliva from off her chin and tried to hush her to comfort like a worried mother.

Zelda all of a sudden came to and screamed out loud "Link NOOOO!!!", and then recognized her surroundings and the old woman and took the towel from off her arm and groaned and saw it practically destroyed and ruined from the tremendous heat and let the old woman cover it up again.  She passed out completely after that.....
Well this back story is taking a lot longer to tell than I had initially thought. I am not sure if that is good or bad, but this will be at least a two parter. Enjoy...
